Today (April 18), Zico posted a video of him and BLACKPINK’s Jennie in a recording studio dancing along to a preview of their upcoming single on Instagram. The snippet features vocals from the girl group member singing: “Up and down, round and round, hit the spot, spot, spot, spot”.

Soon after, Zico revealed that the new collaboration is titled ‘Spot!’ and will be out on April 26 at 6pm KST. Prior to the song’s release, the duo will also drop a bunch of teasers photos and videos from April 19 to 25.

Zico’s last release was his July 2022 mini-album ‘Grown Ass Kid’, featuring the singles ‘Seoul Drift’ and ‘Freak’. Since then, the K-pop idol has launched the boyband BOYNEXTDOOR under his KOZ Entertainment, a subsidiary of HYBE.

The rapper also previously apologised for helping to popularise TikTok dance challenges in the K-pop industry, following the success of his 2020 single ‘Any Song’, which went viral on the platform after he’d created a dance to promote the track.

Meanwhile, Jennie released the song ‘Slow Motion’ with Brockhampton‘s Matt Champion, her first release since she launched her own label Odd Atelier. The singer later revealed that she and Champion had worked on the song more than “three years ago”.

In other K-pop news, boyband Stray Kids have announced their new single ‘Lose My Breath’, a collaboration with Charlie Puth. The song has been described as a “warm-up” for an upcoming Korean album by the boyband, slated for release sometime this summer.
