In late August, it was reported that the release date for the new The Exorcist sequel, The Exorcist: Believer, would be pushed forward a week from its original release date of Friday the 13th of October so it wouldn’t clash with Taylor Swift’s Eras tour concert film.
When Swift first announced the release of the groundbreaking concert film three weeks, it didn’t look like it would also hit Australian screens. Now, that’s all changed, as the Love Story singer revealed that the film would land in over 100 countries overnight.
“The tour isn’t the only thing we’re taking worldwide,” Swift wrote on Instagram yesterday (26 September). “Been so excited to tell you all that The Eras Tour concert film is now officially coming to theaters [sic] WORLDWIDE on Oct 13! Tickets available now at www.TSTheErasTourFilm.com or on your local theaters [sic] website!”
The new film was directed by Sam Wrench and co-produced by Swift. Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour will hit Australian cinemas on Friday, 13 October 2023 (The Exorcist: Believer has also been pushed forward a week in Australia).
Swift’s website for the film immediately links to your location, with 40+ cinemas per capital city in Australia already appearing on her website. If you can’t find your local movie theatre on the list, don’t fret; a notice on her website reads: “Please check back if tickets are not yet on sale for your cinema. Additional tickets may be added in the coming days.”

Swift will perform three nights at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and four shows at Sydney’s Accor Stadium. She is poised to break records at both venues.
The Melbourne show on 18 February will mean that Swift is the first artist since Madonna in 1993 to achieve three (presumably sold out) nights at the 100,000-capacity stadium. In Sydney, on 26 February, the fourth show at the 83,000-capacity venue will be the first time an artist has performed four nights running.
