Beau James Wilding And The Beauty of Imperfection ‘The Dove’

Right Chord Music | March 27, 2023

A wise man once said: ‘true perfection has to be imperfect’ as contradictory as this might sound at first, it actually makes more sense than you could think of, and is this idea what drove accomplished musician Beau James Wilding to write his most recent track, The Dove. Beau James Wilding – The Dove

Hailing from the South-Central coast of California, Beau James Wilding is a solo artist influenced by genres such as blues, punk, jazz, and traditional music.

Beau started writing songs and playing the guitar at fifteen years old. Subsequently, when he turned eighteen, a disease left him “legally blind”, creating an even closer relationship with his music, pretty much to a spiritual level.

Always writing musical pieces from the heart, his newest offering, The Dove, exemplifies Beau’s singular and introspective songwriting ability, sparkled with a healthy dose of poetic lyricism, this is what he had to say about this composition:

“It’s about living a life with perceived imperfections and the work of art that is living that life, the process of making it a life of beauty, joy, and connection not in spite of those imperfections but because of them. The sound is intentionally simultaneously vulnerable and abrasive to capture how this life may come with rasps but may be equally sweet. The Dove is inspired by my father, who had a significant brain injury, but is relatable to all of us. We’re all given these imperfect bodies, and the work of art that is life is not always to obsess over eradicating flaws, but to allow those flaws to help tell one’s unique and magical story.”

And with such a beautiful concept comes a track with a robust production that starts by creating a feeling of tension with the frantic guitar strumming and eerie vocal delivery, contrasting with the superb violin accompaniment, almost as if there was a battle between these elements, topping each other in a gorgeous aural confrontation.

“The Dove is a dazzling ode to imperfection.”

Beau has built a reputation in the Santa Barbara area, having played frequently in this location, including his many shows at Carpinteria’s Avocado Festival.

This tune is part of Seeing I God, Beau’s upcoming album, set for release next April.
