AViVA Goes Gold In The US & Canada, Platinum In Australia
Independent Aussie artist AViVA isn’t a household name, but that doesn’t matter all too much when her debut single, GRRRLS, has gone gold in the US and Canada and platinum in Australia.
GRRRLS, released in November 2017, is an energetic alternative rock banger that wouldn’t sound out of place in playlists alongside Halsey, Lorde and CHVRCHES.
After receiving over nine million plays on YouTube and more than 108 million streams on Spotify, GRRRLS has officially gone gold and platinum, solidifying AViVA’s reputation as a hugely popular yet underrated artist.
In addition to going gold in the US and Canada and platinum in Australia, AViVA dropped the music video for her latest single, Fake Friends, last month. The latest single from her upcoming fifth album, Hopeless Romantic, the rocking song perfectly suits AViVA’s penchant for alternative music stylings.
The Sydney-born, LA-based artist is also working on her third book, which will be released alongside Hopeless Romantic in November.
AViVA recently collaborated with Y.O.G.A. (Reuben Styles from Peking Duk) and has toured with the likes of Yungblud, Poppy, Enter Shikari, Pale Waves, and more.
AViVA said of her latest achievement, “As an Australian and a truly independent musician, I am proud to have achieved a platinum record in my home country and two gold records for my first single, GRRRLS. Notably, one of these gold records was received from the competitive American music industry.
“Earning these recognitions is humbling and serves as a reminder of the incredible journey I have had as an independent musician and the challenges I’ve overcome, and the growth I’ve experienced.
“These accomplishments are not just about the awards but stand as [a] testament to the countless hours of dedication, relentless hard work, and the unyielding passion that myself and my entire team have invested over the years.”
She continued, “That paired with the unshakable faith and enthusiasm of my fans ‘outsiders’ all around the globe. I am extremely grateful for their unwavering support and enthusiasm for my music. I do this for you!”
