Alleged Stalker Who Sent Harry Styles 8,000 Cards In A Month Jailed

A woman who allegedly stalked Harry Styles and sent him 8,000 cards in less than a month has been sent to jail and levelled with a 10-year restraining order.

As The Guardian reports, Myra Carvalho allegedly sent the As It Was singer 8,000 cards in under a month and reportedly left Styles “shaken” by harassing him in London back in January.

Carvalho pleaded guilty to the charge of stalking “involving serious alarm or distress” and has been sentenced to 14 weeks imprisonment.

In addition to the jail time, Carvalho has been ordered to stay away from Styles, receiving a 10-year restraining order from the singer. She’s forbidden from attending his concerts, is not to contact Styles directly or indirectly, and must stay out of an area of north-west London.

The Guardian reports that of the cards Styles received, Carvalho sent him wedding cards and had two letters delivered by hand to his address. Carvalho is a Brazilian citizen and travelled to the UK in December.

Last year, The Music’s Sam Mead was left with the following impression after witnessing Harry Styles live in Perth:

From the kids to the mums dragging their partners ‘all the way from Sydney’ to the girls in front daringly dressed up in denim, there’s something here for everyone. Showing a true testament to the man’s ability to sell out arenas and fill them with songs that can really erupt in their grandeur.

Harry Styles even won over any sceptics at the end of his Love On Tour dates in Australia, getting Aussie legend Daryl Braithwaite on stage in Sydney to perform The Horses.

Introducing Braithwaite to the enthusiastic audience, Styles said, “It’s our last show in Australia, so it only felt right to do something special. Please welcome, Mr Daryl Braithwaite!”

Harry bowed to Braithwaite before launching into the song. “He’s a Tim Tam; he’s a shoey, he’s Vegemite… He’s Mr Daryl Braithwaite”, Styles added.
