James and the Cold Gun Have Announced Their Debut EP ‘False Start’
Big things ahead for James and James.
James and the Cold Gun have a lot of news to share with you.
First off, they have signed with Loosegroove Records, which is owned by Pearl Jam’s Stone Gossard.
They, in partnership with Venn Records, will be releasing the band’s debut EP ‘False Start’, which will be dropping on April 29.
James Biss had this to say about it:
“We wrote these songs for False Start in our flat in 2020 during the pandemic and our first time playing them live as a band was to record them. It was pretty mad recording live around our drummer, hearing the songs played loud with real drums for the first time after months of being stuck inside writing them on the computer. Recording with Adrian Bushby was a dream though, he was bopping around the control room and egging us on to play louder and harder, he’s technically the first person we ever played in front of.”
The artwork looks like this:
And the tracklisting like this:
01. Seven
02. Around The Bend
03. Plug Me In
04. It’s Mutual
05. Long Way Home
They’ve also released ‘It’s Mutual’, which is a driving, scuzzy, joyous piece of unrelenting rock and roll goodness.
James Joseph had this to say about it:
“It’s a song that embodies the feeling that you get when you hit a stalemate in a relationship, that feeling when you’re both sat together but neither person is able to speak. We’ve all had those awkward silent car journeys where there has been an argument or something isn’t right but we can’t even chat about it. Next time you have an awkward car journey, grab the aux and chuck some Cold Gun on.”
Here we gooooo:
And here’s ‘Long Way Home’:
And if that wasn’t enough, the band will be supporting Creeper, alongside VUKOVI, on their rescheduled UK tour dates.
They look like this:
MARCH
14 – TORQUAY Foundry
15 – SOUTHAMPTON Engine Rooms
16 – GLASGOW Garage
