Bodhicypha

My name is Ian but I go by Bodhicypha (Bow-Dee-Sy-Fa) and I come from Orcas Island, WA. I went to a rave in Texas back in 2000 and discovered back then that I wanted to be a DJ! In 2001, I borrowed money from my parents and got my first pair of Technic SL-1200 Turntables with about 50 vinyl records of UK Hard House and NRG. I learned to blend, beat-match and mix with those records.

I spent the first 8 years of my DJ career on vinyl, then another 8 years on CDJs, and eventually stayed with DJ controllers once the technology progressed. I enjoy spinning various sub-genres of House music: Afro, Latin, Bass, and Deep to name a few. I also play Techno, Minimal, Deep Tech, Ambient, and Downtempo music. I spent 8 years of my DJ career specifically dedicated to Drum n’ Bass and Dark Jungle. I still can mix a mean Jungle set and love that genre!

Music is my passion and I love to share it with people in the audience as I enjoy taking my listeners on a musical journey through the light and dark, ups and downs!
