Ahead of their debut collection set to be released later this year, Meagre Martin today release tantalising new single “All My Thoughts”, which makes for an invigorating introduction to the Berlin-based project. Founded by Sarah Martin in the summer of 2021, the project grew after Martin moved to Germany from Boston, MA, in late 2017.

Created as a “means for survival”, there’s a dark edge to Meagre Martin’s music, a bubbling undercurrent of the outsider’s perspective. Whether that comes from Sarah’s move across continents or an innate caring for a world that’s crumbling at the seams isn’t immediately clear, but it imbues the work with a restless energy that feels exhilarating; like walking towards the precipice with your eyes firmly closed.

“All My Thoughts is about the pervasive feelings of grief and how we internalize it,” Sarah Martin says of the song. “How we continue to reference grief and the ones we’ve lost for the entirety of our lives. It describes how grief can shape the way we move through the world after those people are no longer here to advise us. It talks about this afterlife connection and also the ultimate fear of mortality and failure.”
