Megan Dawson’s Single “Influence” Speaks of an Electrifying Love

The year has started with a bang for Calgary artist Megan Dawson. She released her single “Influence”, and has been making waves with this powerful song.

“Influence” is a song about an infectious love. The kind of love that is electric, that keeps going, and you can’t ignore. You know … that love that you think only exists in the movies until you experience it yourself.

This song showcases Megan’s beautifully soft and emotional vocals. In this song, she is able to transport the listener to the feelings she’s singing about. It’s a testament to her talent, and the amazing songwriting.

“Influence” was written by some of Canada’s songwriting heavyweights. Madeline Merlo, Dave Thomson and Emma-Lee all collaborated on writing this one, and it was produced by Dan Swinimer (Madeline Merlo, Tim Hicks, Jess Moskaluke).

“It’s really cool, because it’s my first time as an artist, singing on a song that I’m not a writer on,” She said in an interview with Worlds Od Country. “But the song came into my world through my producer. He showed me this catalog of songs, and this one was written by Madeline Merlo, Dave Thompson and Emma-Lee and there was just something about the whole concept of the song, the melodies, the hook that really resonated with me stylistically, but also where I was at in my life and where I still am at.”
