Track: DMA’s are ‘Fading Like A Picture’ with anthemic aplomb as UK headline shows go on sale.

Sydney’s glorious DMA’s are on the move again after their support for the Arctic Monkeys on their recent Australian tour, with the release of the single ‘Fading Like A Picture’ and details of their upcoming headline tour in the UK.

‘Fading Like a Picture’ is classic anthemic DMA’s with shimmering guitars, soaring choruses and a bag full of attitude. DMA’s capacity to create the most indelible melodies remains, always touched with a blush of melancholia and deepest yearning. Johnny Took says of the track:

Tommy (O’Dell) wrote the majority of this song to an obscure demo I made during lockdown. When we all came together to demo it, (Matthew) Mason added one of my favourite guitar riffs on the new album, and we used the middle-eight from another demo as the chorus. A true DMA’S collaboration.

It’s the equivalent of a sonic caress:

The single – available to download and stream here – comes off DMA’s forthcoming album ‘How Many Dreams?’ which was recorded in London with Stuart Price (Dua Lipa, The Killers, Pet Shop Boys) and Rich Costey (Sigur Ros, Muse, Foster the People), then completed with Konstantin Kersting (Mallrat, The Jungle Giants) in the band’s hometown of Sydney. DMA’s have also consolidated news of their headlining UK tour with an announcement that their upcoming London show has moved venues to OVO Arena Wembley. It will be staying on the same date, Friday 21st April.

All tickets remain valid for the new venue and, due to increased venue capacity, extra tickets have been released and will go on sale from noon on Wednesday 18 January.
