Solomun – Ocean (feat. Jamie Foxx)

| May 12, 2021
“The DJ Sessions” is a live streamed/podcast series featuring the hottest electronic music DJs with live mixes and interviews streamed live to a global audience.

Solomun and Jamie Foxx team up for a surprising yet satisfying combo for ‘Ocean‘. The A-list celebrity brings soul to the track and diversity to Solomun’s sound. We first heard about this song last year when he announced the drop of his second full-length album Nobody Is Not Loved. Now, the deep house and techno producer is about to release that compilation on his own NINL imprint. It’ll feature Tom Smith, Isolation Berlin, Anne Clark, and others.

The track opens up with smooth, steady kick drums and horn elemental that sun kisses the melody. It has a groovy, infectious vibe to it that reminds us of some modern neo-Frank Ocean soundscapes. Paired with a fluttering bassline that makes you sway, enjoy its darkened soundscape. With lyrics that want us to go deep-sea vibing with light beams shining down from the surface, we all feel like swirling while listening. Check out their accompanying official music video below.

“Humans, for the most part, consist of water. It’s life’s elixir. And what water is for the body, music is for the soul. It fulfills the soul. It brings quiet after the storm. I’m very excited to share with you my new song “Ocean“, a collaboration with Jamie Foxx.”

Solomun

From movies to tv and even Wheel of Impressions, music videos look good on him too. There’s also an extended remix of the track by Moodymann & Amp Fiddler. They give it a quicker pace and a funk, soul, electronic feel to it with more drum machine instrumentals. It’s been quite a busy year for Solomun having already released a few new singles and some mixes.

Listen to their track below and let us know what you think!
