Gabry Ponte, R3HAB, Timmy Trumpet give turbulent take on Blondie’s 1980 hit ‘Call Me’

Dancing Astronaut | January 14, 2022

Once a member of the iconic 90’s outfit Eiffel 65, Gabry Ponte has had a long and illustrious career, however, looking at his recent surging success, it seems like the Italian hitmaker’s best days are still ahead of him. Ponte kicks off 2022 alongside two of dance music’s finest, bringing in R3HAB and Timmy Trumpet for a turbulent electro rendition of Blondie‘s 1980 smash, “Call Me.”

More than 30 years after the original’s release, Gabry Ponte, R3HAB, and Timmy Trumpet’s “Call Me” feels as fresh as ever. Pitched up vocals, electro triplets, and a scathing 140+ beats per minute make the new release a prime candidate for everything from the club to a workout playlist.

This isn’t the first time that Gabry Ponte has crossed paths with either R3HAB or Timmy Trumpet. Just last year, Gabry and R3HAB joined for the release of “The Portrait (Ooh La La),” and was featured on the title track of Timmy Trumpet’s Mad World LP just a year prior. Listen to the three dance titans’ latest track, “Call Me” below.
