The ‘Thrift Shop’ guy Macklemore is playing a bunch of arena shows around Australia and New Zealand in May 2024. Pre-sale demand was sufficient to lead to the addition of a second Sydney show. That’ll be happening on Sunday, 12th May at the Hordern Pavilion – the night following Macklemore’s existing show at the same venue.
The 2024 tour comes in the wake of Macklemore’s second official solo LP, BEN, released in March. There’ll be shows in Wellington, Auckland, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, plus the two Sydney shows. Details below.
Macklemore – ‘No Bad Days’ feat. Collett
In recent weeks, Macklemore has been advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza. He attended a pro-Palestine rally in Washington D.C. over the first weekend of November, where he was invited to make a speech. “There are thousands of people here that are more qualified to speak on the issue of a free Palestine than myself,” Macklemore said.
“They told me to be quiet. They told me to do my research, to go back, that it’s too complex to say something, right? To be silent in this moment. In the last three weeks, I’ve gone back and I’ve done some research. And I am teachable. I don’t know enough. But I know enough that this is a genocide.”
