Live Review: Crawlers / Uninvited – O2 Academy, Sheffield 09.11.2022

With a late start to the show, nothing was stopping this crowd from bringing the energy. Eagerly waiting for the crawlers to emerge, the sold-out venue, o2 Academy Sheffield, welcomed to the stage Glasgow band Uninvited. The indie/alt group consisting of guitarist/vocalist Gillian Dhlakama, bassist/vocalist Taylor Ray, lead guitarist Bex Young and drummer Fiorenza Cocozza, kicked off the night with one of their hits “The Party Song”. The crowd was loving it as they continued their set for half an hour. We were all cheering and singing along. Anyone who didn’t turn up was definitely missing out!

As the night continues, the wait is finally over. The lights dim and three members of the headlining band, Crawlers, make an appearance. Beginning to play the first song of their set, the suspense begins to rise as lead singer, Holly Minto bursts onto the stage greeted with a warm welcome from the crowd. The atmosphere was insane, everyone in the crowd jumping till their heads nearly hit the roof! The sound of the drums echoing around the venue as the bass guitar bellowed through the speakers. You could feel the music rush through your body. The band’s song “Too Soon” was the first of many to play, followed by “Statues” and “MONROE”. Lead singer, Minto, is an incredible performer; head banging, getting involved with the crowd and showing off her moves. She definitely made that stage her own.

Overall, an absolutely brilliant night and if you’re not seeing this band live, then get yourself a ticket!
