Calvin Harris returns with big acid house remake of classic

Stoney Roads | September 20, 2021

A mutton-chopped up full Scot turbo mode Calvin Harris has teamed up with Love Regenerator and Solardo for a unique take on a classic titled, ‘Rollercoaster’.

The key sample of the original song is by the Ohio Players Love Rollercoaster that was made in 1975 and probably most widely recognised for its cover by Red Hot Chilli Peppers on 90s cult favourite movie Beavis and Butthead. This take on the famous earworm of a track takes it into acid-house territory. I dare say it’s of the same ilk of late-night party jams from the early 2000s era. It follows a long line of artists lending from hits from the past to create new hits for today.

The song is a part of a two-track EP that’s second track ‘All Of A Sudden’ is more a festival instrumental anthem, thick with instruments coming together for a fast tempo house number.
